Content
The purpose of Nanotechnology-Profit website is to help the reader explore the exploding world of Nanotechnology. It does this through definitions, organization, fundamentals and links to the latest literature including manufacturers. One objective of this site is current awareness. Each week the US Patents and journal articles are scoured for nanotechnology articles. The links are on current awareness pages listed below.

The links are then transferred permanently to Topic pages. The intent is to become a current awareness enccylopedia. The major Topic pages are listed below. These by the way are part of a larger encyclopedia.

Links: Links are the keys to this site. Most of the time the details will be in the Internet sites behind the links. There are limitations. The links are based on the latest information when the link is made. The Internet is a very transient. A site will be here one day and gone the next. Web addresses change and so on. A page which looked so interesting when the link was made may disappear. The ideal would be to check each link everyday but that is impossible. However, they will be checked regularly and nonworking links removed. . The Us Patent links are the strangest. Each week, about 3000 US Patents are published on Tuesday and can be reviewed as a single list. Each number and name is linked to the text version of the patent. For weekly review, the Number, Name and link for a Nanotechnology patent from the weekly list is copied. Normally this works very well. However, there is another link which is connected to the Patent number found when a search is made on the basis of Patent Number. This link is permanent and can always be used to go to the Patent page. The first link is not permanent and may be changed at any time. Time limitations prevent us from using the permanent link. Therefore, often the link on the Nanotechnology lists will not go to the right patent page. When this happens, the solution is simple. The reader needs only to go to the top of the US Patent page and click on Patent Number. Copy the patent number to the search box and click. That will always go the right patent. For the reader's convenience a link to the US Patent Search page using Patent numbers will be given.

The Editor The editor of this site, Nanotechnology-Profit is Roger D. Corneliussen, PhD, Professor Emeritus of Materials Engineering, Drexel University, Philadelphia. He retired after 23 years in Materials Engineering. His PhD is in Physical Chemistry from the University of Chicago. Most of his career concerned Polymer Morphology beginning with Low Angle X-ray studies of polyethylene deformation. His academic career concerned Morphology, Failure Mechanisms, Polymeric Composites and Polymer Compounding. He was particularly fascinated by the development of the scanning tunneling microscopy and Fullerenes and has followed with great interest the development of Nanotechnology from those early years.
